On-site investigation: the Castle of Bashtovë (Albania)
Overview

One of the main pilot cases of the project “3D-IMP-ACT” is the Castle of Bashtovë, a medieval quadrangular fortress located close to the outflow of the Shkumbin River into the Adriatic Sea in Central Albania. During the meeting held by the partners in Albania, the acquisition of high-resolution images and videos by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) was carried out in order to elaborate digital interactive contents for the enhancement of the monument. The castle, as well as the Apollonia archaeological site, was identified by the Instituti I Monumenteve Te Kultures Gani Strazimiri (AL) and by the Universiteti Politeknik i Tiranes (UPT) as pilot case within the 3D-IMP-ACT project.

One of the main goal of 3D-IMP-ACT will be the enhancement of this medieval architecture, with real and virtual networks.
